Postdoctoral Research Scientist in MRI
Tsinghua University – Philips Joint Program
A scientist position for a person with expertise in MR physics and experience
with Philips MR scanners is available immediately. The successful candidate wi
ll work at the Center for Biomedical Imaging Research in the Tsinghua Universi
ty School of Medicine, Beijing, China in collaborations with center researcher
s and will also work closely with Philips Research.
Successful candidates will have a strong background in MRI physics and sequenc
e development on Philips or other MR Scanners. They will have experience engag
ing with clinical fields such as physicians and psychiatrists to collaborate i
n research. The research projects will primarily focus on MRI pulse sequences
development, including accelerated imaging techniques and signal quantitation.
The position is available immediately and applications will be accepted until
the position is filled. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with exp
erience.
Required Qualifications:
• Completed Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Enginee
ring or other related field;
• Development experience with MRI pulse sequences. Familiarity with the
Philips Paradise (Goal-C) tool is a plus.
• Highly motivated with a strong interest in MRI research;
• Proficient in C or C as well as Matlab or IDL;
• Strong communication skills in English. Chinese is a plus;
Center for Biomedical Imaging Research, Tsinghua University School of Medicine
CBIR is a state-of-art medical imaging research center led by Prof. Chun Yuan
from the University of Washington and Tsinghua University. It has established
strong collaborations with industry and international academic partners throu
gh Professor League of world renowned medical imaging scientists. It is equip
ped with a Philips 3T whole-body MRI scanner. The 3T MRI system is an increas
ingly common platform for research and clinical applications that can be used
for development of techniques as well as basic and clinical research, and for
teaching and training. Additionally, CBIR is fully equipped with affiliated eq
uipment for imaging technique development, hardware development, image process
ing and clinical research. An advanced Philips 3D iU22 ultrasound scanner is a
lso equipped to accelerate the progress of a multi-modality center.
