An exciting opportunity is available to play a key role in a research team implementing a workpackage of a high profile European project on health literacy in diabetes, under the supervision of Professor Lucy Yardley. The research will involve; liaising with researchers across Europe on a variety of projects; developing a web-delivered intervention for people with diabetes and trialling the intervention across 5 European countries.
You will have a Postgraduate degree (MSc/PhD) in health psychology or closely related area, or equivalent research experience, excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context. Experience of qualitative methods and working in clinical contexts would be an advantage. No previous experience of web development is necessary as full training will be given but you will be confident in the use of computer packages/programmes.
This post would suit a postdoctoral researcher or postgraduate wishing to undertake a PhD (the post is ideal for completing our BPS/HPC approved PhD in Health Psychology Research and Professional Practice).
The position is offered on a full time basis with the option of part-time (equivalent of 4 days per week) for those wishing to undertake a PhD and is tenable from 1 November 2012.
