美国华盛顿大学圣路易斯分校材料科学博士后岗位
The Medical Physics Division at the Washington University in St. Louis, Department of Radiation Oncology seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Medical Physics to develop novel radiation detectors for multidimensional radiation therapy dosimetry. In particular, the successful candidate will be investigating the physics behind storage phosphor based dosimeters that are made in-house. The candidate will also have opportunities to be involved in other medical physics research, including proton therapy, image guided adaptive radiation therapy with MRI and onboard cone-beam CT, for which prior experience in C/MATLAB is essential.
The Department of Radiation Oncology has numerous state-of-the-art medical linear accelerators and CT scanners, soon a 3 Tesla MRI, access to numerous other imaging devices, world’s first gantry mounted compact proton radiotherapy system (Mevion), world’s first commercial real time MR-IMRT delivery system (ViewRay), access to supercomputing facility. The Medical Physics Division consists of over 60 faculty, staff, students, residents, and post doctoral fellows. The clinical dosimetry research lab is well-equipped, and has access to a wide range of equipment and instrumentation through Washington University Center for Materials Innovation and external collaborations. This NIH funded research position will provide opportunity to pursue a medical physics career. Medical physics is a creative, expanding and rewarding profession that combines professional clinical service, teaching and research.
Candidate should have a Ph.D. in physics, materials science, or a related engineering area. Excellent lab skills in experimental physics and the ability to publish the research results are expected.
