Job Responsibilities:
Prof. Wan’s main research focuses on experimental work on nanophotonics, nonlinear optics & quantum optics both at fundamental physics level and applications. We’re exploring new physics at nanoscale with its potential applications. Successful candidates are expected to conduct experimental work on optics as well as numerical simulations. Micro-fabrication experience is a Plus ,but not necessary.

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of Micro and Nanoscale Heat Transfer
- directed by Prof. Hua Bao

Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will conduct cutting-edge theoretical research in the area of micro and nanoscale heat transfer, especially in the energy carrier (phonon, electron, and photon) transport and conversion area. The research will be focusing on thermal transport and energy conversion in nanoscale renewable energy materials (such as superlattices and quantum dots for thermoelectric or photovoltaic applications). One immediate project will be developing a method to calculate phonon-phonon scattering and phonon-electron scattering rate based on ab initio calculations.
Requirements:
· Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Material Science, Chemistry or related field
· Solid background in least one of the following subjects: solid state physics, quantum mechanics, or electromagnetic theory.
· Previous experience with ab initio calculation, molecular dynamics, or boltzmann transport equation is preferred.
· Be able to communicate and write technical documents in English.

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the Computational Dynamics Laboratory

Job Responsibilities:
· Conduct analytical and computational research on structural and multibody dynamics with applications to
o Wind turbines and rotorcraft aero-mechanical analysis and comprehensive simulation;
o Experimental mechanics and dynamics;
o Condition based maintenance;
o Parallel computational algorithms;
Composites materials and structures.
The work deals with the development of computational tools for the comprehensive simulation of complex multibody systems. Very strong computer and programming skills are required. Candidates are expected to conduct independent research on these topics and help guide PhD students working in the lab.
Collaboration with industry is expected both in China and overseas.
Work is to be presented at international conferences and published in international journals. Postdoctoral fellows will work in collaboration with Dr. Bauchau to present and write papers in international conferences and journals.

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the Laser Precision Manufacturing Lab

Job Responsibilities:
· Conduct independent research in laser-aided materials processing and precision manufacturing for advanced materials used in propulsion, energy, life sciences and other industries, including laser additive net shape manufacturing, laser welding and laser micromachining.
· Use both theoretical and experimental approach to understand, optimize and innovate the laser additive material deposition for advanced materials processing including the following topics
o Transport phenomena modeling for material processing
o On-line optical diagnostics and closed-loop control
o Non-equilibrium synthesis of materials with tailored properties
· Help the faculty adviser to supervise graduate students, write grant proposals, and manage the daily operation of the research lab;
· Candidates are expected to publish their work in strong English-language journals.
Requirements:
· PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Materials engineering, or a related discipline;

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in Surgical Robotics

Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary team to develop a multifunctional endoscopic device and a laparoscopic robotic device for surgical applications. Important aspects of the problems include designing actuation and mechanisms, developing kinematics/elastics/statics models for control, developing calibration and compensation algorithms for prototypes, preparing animal studies, etc.
Requirements:
· PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a field related to robotics;
· Strong theoretical background;
· Excellent communication skills and work ethic;

机器人创新与交互实验室于2010年由徐凯教授归国后创立，致力于先进机器人技术 在医疗卫生（特别是临床手术）的应用，本次招聘博士后两名，参与三星综合技术 院“全球研究拓展计划”资助的“单口腹腔镜手术机器人”项目。
岗位职责：
1．在教授指导下，团结在岗研究生、本科生，负担项目的部分设计、开发和管理工作；
2. 根据设计概念，细化产品机械结构、机械部件的设计。绘制装配图和零件图(3d和2d)；
3. 了解基本工业控制系统的选用和集成。

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the Lab for Optical Measurement and Sensing

Job Responsibilities:
• Work independently on research projects in the field of optical measurement, optical sensing, and machine vision. Current projects include:
- 3-D shape measurement based on the structured light methods
- Microscope for surface profile measurement
- Absolute encoders for nano-positioning
- Surface encoders for mobile robot navigation
- Face recognition for biometric applications
• Help the faculty adviser supervise graduate students, write grant proposals, and manage the daily operation of the research lab
• Write research papers and reports in English

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher in the Dynamics and Vibration Lab

· Conduct analytical and computational research on the vibration and dynamics of mechanical systems;
· The work uses mathematical models and computational tools to investigate the following problems:
o nonlinear vibration of gears,
o vibration absorbers in automotive transmissions,
o dynamic modeling and analysis of unmanned helicopters.
· The work deals with linear and nonlinear models of continuous (partial differential equations) and discrete (ordinary differential equations) systems. Candidates are expected to conduct independent research on these topics and help guide PhD students working in the lab;

· Conduct analytical and computational research on plasma discharges.
· The work uses mathematical models and computational tools to investigate the following problems:
o Plasma chemistry, reaction rates and plasma composition,
o Kinetics of dual frequency capacitively coupled discharges
o Dynamics of the high power impulse magnetron sputtering (HiPIMS) discharge.
· The work deals with modeling of various types of plasma discharges. The modeling work may include global models of the plasma chemistry or particle-in-cell/Monte Carlo model to explore the plasma kinetics. Candidates are expected to conduct independent research on these topics and help guide Ph.D. students working in the lab.
· In cooperation with Prof. Gudmundsson, candidates are expected to publish their work in respected English-language journals. Prof. Gudmundsson will assist in writing and refining the manuscripts so they will be accepted by leading journals.
