Postdoctoral positions in gastrointestinal cancer and stem cell biology *
Postdoctoral positions available in the Calvin Kuo laboratory at Stanford to investigate molecular mechanisms of gastrointestinal cancer and stem cell biology (PNAS 109(2):466-71 (2012); Nature Medicine, 15(6):701-6 (2009)). One project involves functional screening for novel oncogene and tumor suppressor loci causing malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract. A second project studies intestinal stem cell populations including lineage relationships and transplantation.
The ideal candidate(s) will have extensive pre-existing experience in cancer, stem cell biology, intestinal physiology, or general genetic analysis in model systems. Command of written and spoken English and a strong publication record is essential. Specific experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly desirable: high throughput screening, FACS sorting, managing transgenic/ko mouse colonies, and/or recombineering of targeting/transgenic constructs.
