Location: New Haven, CT, United States Type: Postdoctoral Posted: November 29, 2011 Expires: January 13, 2012 job description Yale University School of Medicine, Department of Pathology (Pathology Informatics) is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral associate to work on collaborative projects in computational immunology. The main focus of the research is the immune response to influenza infection and vaccination. We are developing bioinformatics approaches and mathematical models to understand how pathogen and host variation, cytokine environment and genetics shape the human response to influenza virus. Antiviral transcriptional regulatory networks are a particular focus of the work. This position is part of the Program for Research in Immune Modeling and Experimentation (http://tsb.mssm.edu/primeportal). Information on other major research projects in the Kleinstein Lab can be found at: http://medicine.yale.edu/labs/kleinstein. The successful candidate will work in a highly dynamic team environment to develop and apply computational methods/models and bioinformatics approaches to understand the human immune response to influenza infection/vaccination in close collaborations with laboratory and clinical investigators. The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative and programming abilities, along with a demonstrated interest in applying these skills to problems in biology. Interested candidates should forward a CV and short description of research interests together with the names and addresses of three references to: steven.kleinstein@yale.edu |
