Applications are invited for a postdoctoral position to work in a joint project funded by the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK, but the work will be mostly carried out in the Advanced Materials Laboratory of Professor Dongyuan Zhao, Department of Chemistry, Fudan University, Shanghai China, and partly in the laboratory of Dr Tapas Sen, Institute of Nanotechnology and Bioengineering, Centre for Materials Science, School of Forensic and Investigative Sciences, University of Central Lancashire (UCLan), Preston, UK. The project entitled “Multifunctional Nanocomposites for the Separation of Pollutants from Industrial and Municipal Sewage Water” is aiming to develop multifunctional nanocomposites containing superparamagnetic iron oxide nanoparticles (SPIONs) and silver nanoparticles embedded into the porous matrix for the separation of toxic chemicals and bio-chemicals in collaboration with other partners at UCLan, UK; Fudan University, China and Feedwater Ltd, UK.
Applicants should have the related research background for the nanomaterials and porous materials preparation and applications. The excellent publication and development record is preferred for the application. A PhD in a relevant area and willing to work both in China and UK hence should be very good in English.
Salary: 100,000CHN / year
The funds for this post are available for 3 years, however, the performance will be strictly monitored in every six months by the funding body.
