Description: The Georgia Prevention Institute, a unit of the Department of Pediatrics, is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position, with expertise in genetic epidemiology, bioinformatics and/or behavioral genetics. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in genetic epidemiology, molecular biology, physiology, cardiology, psychology, exercise physiology, community intervention and biostatistics. The Georgia Prevention Institute conducts multiple NIH-funded projects evaluating bio-behavioral antecedents and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, Type 2 diabetes, and obesity beginning in childhood. The successful candidate will work with genetic epidemiologist in designing and analyzing genetically informative studies, such as studies of gene-environment interaction, gene association, linkage, gene expression and epigenetics. Candidates should be conversant in the use of genetic statistical software and analysis techniques relevant for these types of studies. The candidate should have a doctoral degree in Behavior Genetics, Genetic Epidemiology or related field.
