Two post doctoral fellow positions are open immediately at the Med-X Research Institute of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in the areas of neural rehabilitation for stroke patients and sensory feedback for prosthetic hand. It is expected that the successful candidate will develop computational and/or experimental methods to investigate adaptive strategies of sensorimotor control, and will initiate translational applications to clinical rehabilitation for stroke patients and for amputees. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering, or Biomechanics, or Neural Physiology, or Biokinesiology. Candidates who have a strong motivation to pursue a research career in the field of human motor control and rehabilitation will be given the priority of consideration. The research will be performed in Institute of Rehabilitation Engineering of the Med-X Research Institute, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, in collaboration with clinical hospitals of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The Med-X Research Institute is a newly established center with rehabilitation engineering as one of its main directions. It provides a dynamic environment for collaboration with a range of disciplines within the university, such as Digital Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Biology, Neuroscience and Neuroengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nano-biomaterials, Micro-Electronics and MEMS, as well as its top clinical hospitals in China. For international candidates, we will facilitate joint application of post doctoral fellow fund from their home countries.
