Senior Research Fellow or Research Fellow Vibration Condition Monitoring/Diagnostics/Signal Processing Cranfield University - School of Engineering, Engineering Computing and Cybernetics (ECC) Department Senior Research £38,391 per annum Research Fellow - £29,498 to £32,878 per annum
We have a strong record in applied research in the academic and industrial sectors. Application areas include vibro-acoustical condition monitoring of complex mechanical systems, advance real-time signal and image processing; multi-sensor fusion; multi-phase flows and are applied to the power generation, automotive, aircraft and oil industries.
Your activity, as part of an industrially funded research project, will be dedicated to the research and development of innovative vibration condition monitoring technologies for rotating machinery and advanced signal processing techniques.
For a Senior Research Fellow post you should have significant academic or industrial postdoctoral experience in the area of vibration condition monitoring of rotating machinery supported by relevant a PhD qualification and published papers.
For a Research Fellow post you should have a first class honours or upper second class honours degrees in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related subject and a PhD.
In particular, experience is required in vibration damage diagnosis for rotating machinery, vibration experiments with machinery and advanced signal processing. You will be skilled in programming in Matlab including Signal Processing Toolbox and Simulink.
This post is available from November 2011, for a fixed term of one year in the first instance. The potential for a further one year extension of the post is envisaged. Post level and salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
